Just picked up a couple 10' lifetime anglers for the wife and i and we are curious if anybody new if a floatation device was required or if a sit on top kayak counted as one being fully sealed and all.. In case you haven't heard, new york state has just passed two new laws that paddlers should be aware of. here's the first: beginning november 1, 2009, section 40, subdivision 1 of the navigation law shall be amended by adding new paragraph (e), which reads as follows:.

Canoeing laws vary from state to state. a pennsylvania resident once told me a permit was required to paddle on rivers in his state (seriously!?). in texas, life jackets are required for kids 13 and under when paddeling recreational canoes, and anyone over 13 must at least have one in the boat..
