This dinghy will take up to a 30lb thrust electric outboard with the battery box under the centre thwart. these lightweight dinghies are easily driven and do not require a lot of power to drive them. a 1hp petrol outboard is the maximum power size engine for this dinghy weighing between 9 and 12kg.. Lymington pram the original much loved lymington pram was designed and built by lymington boat builder dan bran in 1922 specifically as a class boat for the lymington yacht club. it was set up with a single gunter rigged main positioned well forward in the boat.. The ariel pram dinghy was originally designed for joseph thompson & co. ltd., for them to produce in kit form to promote their cedar speed strip product. speed strip is still available from them but they are no longer producing the kits and the plans, with full size mould shapes are now available from ourselves..
